Wooster's "adopted" son
Steve is originally from the Cleveland suburb of Middleburg Heights, but moved to Wooster in 2010. He met his beautiful wife, Courtney, who is from Wayne County. They have a one-year-old son, Thomas. Wooster has been nothing but great to Steve and his family, which in turn led to him giving back to the community which has adopted him.

Professional Career

Steve worked as a journalist in Northeast Ohio before landing a position at The Daily Record newspaper from 2010-2018, where he was an Associated Press award-winning journalist. During his tenure at the Wooster newspaper, Steve covered the Wayne County court system, Wooster city government, and the Wooster business community. He was able to develop a reputation as a fair and balanced journalist who was able to accurately represent the community's values, while informing readers on the issues of the day. His stories have been featured in countless publications across Cleveland, Youngstown, Shelby, Mansfield, Akron, Canton, and the Associated Press.

Following the sale of the newspaper by the Dix family, Steve worked for Bret Defibaugh and Corbett Coots at Bowman Beverage for five years, and Birdeye, a local website developer, where he specialized in SEO content. In 2021, Steve joined Compak, a Wooster-based warehousing company founded by local entrepreneur Jerry Baker. Steve is currently Director of Operations at Compak.

Outside the office, Steve is a dedicated family man and enjoys spending time with friends and family, especially his son, Thomas, a future Wooster City Schools graduate, Class of 2042. He and his family are huge advocates and users of the National Parks system, as well as Wooster and Wayne County parks.
